14. GEORGE DARROW (1711/2–after 1769) (Christopher, George)

George Darrow was born on 17 March 171[1?]/2 in New London. He was baptized on 23 March 1711/[2?] in New London. [1] He died after 27 March 1769.

George and Phebe Darrow were admitted to the church in Stonington on 5 September 1736. [2]>

On 27 March 1769 George and Phebe Darrow attested that they had lived in Stonington “in the time of the religious concern about 27 years ago” and that what Mr. Fish wrote about it was generally true. [3]

15. PHEBE PALMER (1717–after 1769) (Joseph, Joseph, Nehemiah, Walter)

Phebe Palmer was born on 24 November 1717 in Stonington. She was baptized on 24 November 1717 in Stonington. She died after 27 March 1769. [4]> She married George Darrow.

Children of George Darrow and Phebe Palmer, all recorded as born in Stonington:< [5]

i. Phebe Darrow (#7) was born on 8 April 1737. She died on 25 February 1829 in Brookfield.  She married William Palmer.

ii. Joseph Darrow was born on 7 April 1739. He was baptized on 22 April 1739 in Stonington. He died on 2 May 1740 in Stonington.

iii. Ichabod Darrow was born on 2 August 1741. He was baptized and died on 17 August 1741 in Stonington.

iv. George Darrow was born on 16 August 1743. He was baptized on 25 September 1743 in Stonington. He may be the George Darrow who died on 16 November 1820, age 76, in Bridgewater, Susquehanna County, Pennsylvania. He may be the George Darrow of Stonington who married Elizabeth Benjamin of Preston on 7 March 1763 in Preston. [6]

v. Mary Darrow was born on 8 August 174[5?]. She was baptized on 15 September 1745 in Stonington. She died on 30 October 1826 and is buried in the Burritt Cemetery in Hinesburg, Chittenden County, Vermont. She married Azariah Palmer on 26 January 1764 in Stonington. Azariah was the brother of her sister Phebe’s husband. [7]

vi. Frances Darrow was born on 1 April 1748. She was baptized on 3 April 1748 in Stonington. She died on 2 July 1782, age 34 in Pomfret. She married James Trowbridge of Pomfret on 4 December 1766. James, the son of Daniel and Hannah Trowbridge, was born on 15 February 1739/40 in Pomfret. He died on 17 December 1820, age 82, in Pomfret. James married second Mary Kimball (Kendall?) on 29 August 1782 in Pomfret. She died on 4 March 1801, age 47, in Pomfret. James married third Rachel Stiles. She died on 30 December 1808, age 63, in Pomfret. James and his three wives are buried in the Old Abbington Cemetery in Abbington, Windham County. [8]

James and Frances were admitted to the church in Pomfret and renewed their baptismal covenant on 16 October 1768. [9]

vii. Joseph Darrow was born on 30 May 1751. He died before 16 April 1778, probably in Stonington. He might be the Joseph Darrow of Stonington who married Lydia Ward of New London on 20 November 1774 in New London. Lydia is probably the daughter of John and Irene (Cruttenden) Ward, born on 11 October 1754 in New London. [10]

Inventory of the estate of Joseph Darrow, late of Stonington, was taken on 16 April 1778 and it amounted to about 28 pounds. Lydia Darrow and William Palmer posted bond on his estate on 5 May 1778. [11]

viii. John Darrow was born on 16 December 1753 and probably died young.

ix. Elizabeth Darrow was born on 14 December 1755 and probably died young.

x. Lydia Darrow was born on 20 November 1758 and probably died young.
